What type of conditions does the chiropractor care for?

We have seen positive results caring for people with many conditions. The most common conditions people have improvement in are headaches, digestive issues, low energy, fatigue, neck pain, back pain, infant colic, infant ear infections, poor sleep, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, frozen shoulder, and infertility.

How long is each appointment, and how often will I need to visit?

Your initial appointment will be 60-75 minutes; if care is appropriate, subsequent visits will be 5-15 minutes. Frequency of care is specific to the needs of the individual.

What are the costs associated with visiting a chiropractor?

The initial visit has a value of $300. Please call us at 319-656-2888 and ask if we’re running a New Patient Special.

What is the chiropractor's approach to care?

We help you identify your goals, then closely examine your history, current health, and the findings from our examination to craft a care plan specifically designed to help you reach your goals.

Does the chiropractor use any specific techniques?

Both Dr. Grier and Dr. Ryan are trained in manual and instrument-adjusting techniques.

How does the chiropractor measure progress?

We build Progress Examinations into every care plan and utilize Insight Subluxation Station technology to progressively measure your nervous system health, along with listening closely to your feedback about what you are experiencing.

What are the risks and benefits of chiropractic treatment?

Fortunately, chiropractic is one of the safest forms of healthcare to participate in. The benefits range from the expected elimination of back pain, headaches, and neck pain to the unexpected—improved energy, digestion, sleep, and overall well-being.

What is the chiropractor's approach to patient education?

We take our jobs as educators very seriously. From before the first visit to every visit in our office, we work with you to enhance your knowledge of health and your ability to apply more beneficial strategies to your life so you can achieve the health goals you created.

How do I schedule my first appointment?

We’re excited to meet you! Schedule online by clicking here or call the office at 319-656-2888.

What should I expect during my initial examination?

Our initial visit is comprehensive, starting with your health history, progressing to your current health, and your health goals. We then perform an examination that includes a spinal examination (both motion and position), postural analysis, three unique computerized nervous system scans, and digital X-rays, if necessary.

What should I wear to my first appointment?

There are no specific requirements for your first appointment apparel.

What should I bring with me to my first appointment?

Your health goals! You’ll need to have your online forms filled out the day before your first appointment, and if that’s not possible, please arrive 30 minutes early to fill out paper forms.

Will X-rays be taken during my first appointment?

If the doctor determines X-rays would be useful, we’ll take them on the first visit.

Will the chiropractor discuss a treatment plan during my first appointment?

Generally, the doctor will need time to analyze all the information gathered on the first visit, and a care plan discussion will happen on a subsequent visit.

Will the chiropractor adjust me during my first appointment?

In order to deliver you the best care possible and ensure we have the time to analyze the information gathered on the initial visit, we generally do not adjust on the first visit.
